Help Identify Hurricane Sandy Damage

Greetings map-obsessed readers of the Twelve Mile Circle. Is it a slow day at work and you’d like to fritter away a few moments on something that’s actually useful and productive? Would you like to help identify and categorize Hurricane Sandy Damage? If so, please visit the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team website.

From their website: “Hurricane Sandy affected a huge area, and we need to accelerate the rate at which responders can assess damage. This tool uses crowdsourcing to provide an initial filter on imagery that has been collected from affected areas. Your work feeds into analysts who are supporting FEMA.”

It’s fun, it’s addictive, and it’s helpful.

Many thanks to Geographic Travels for bringing this to my attention.
