Earthquake in DC!

Washington Monument damaged by earthquake

Holy crap! We just had an earthquake. I’m on the top floor — 11th floor — of an office building in Crystal City, just across the river from Washington, DC. The building actually ROCKED for awhile. Lots of people have evacuated the office buildings. I can see them out on the streets. Me? I’m still here in the building. I spent some of my childhood years in California so it didn’t seem that bad, just a little surprising for this area. The electricity is on but the mobile phone network seems to be down. I am fine, the family is fine, and now that the Adrenalin has dropped back to normal I can get back to work.

It was strong here in Albemarle County. I won’t skip church next Sunday.

I felt it (less severely of course) here in Cleveland. A few skittish buildings decided to evac, but not mine.

Earthquake today, hurricane this weekend. Are locust storms in the seven-day forecast?

I narrowly avoided Irene coming back from Punta Cana, DR on Sunday night. Didn’t miss this earthquake though. I work at Georgetown U. and we evacuated the entire University by 3:30. It was wild – Our building (and I’m only on the 3rd floor) was shaking quite a bit.

Never thought I’d experience a tornado in Montana and an earthquake in DC, especially in the span of 14 months…

Felt it pretty significantly in Toronto, albeit on the 43rd floor of a skyscraper.

Dude……that earthquake events seemed to you not bad but if major problem was happened though what was you doing on that time. I think you should to alert for this type of danger situation in next time for save your life. I think shouldn’t take a simple issue as a little. Give equal vitality to the all issue. Thanks and wish your long life.

Dude……notice how I removed the link to your website? What kind of immoral person tries to use a traumatic event to spam websites for personal gain? Your IP address is now permanently blocked on this domain.
