"Andrew 'BOTTLES' is listed as a head of family in the 1820 census at Fallowfield, Crawford County, PA, just after the family of John G. GRINDLE, his stepson-in-law. In the 1830 census he appears as a head of family at Greenwood, Crawford County, PA; his family consisted of one male and one female of age 60 to 70 years, and one male of age 50 to 60 years."

"On 3 September 1823 Andrew BORTLES and his wife Isabel of Farmington, Ontario County, NY quitclaimed to Elisha W. GARDNER of the same town for $100 their interest in two parcels of land in Farmington, one of about 52 acres in lot 89 and the second of about 38 acres in the southeast part of lot 104 [Ontario County Deed Records, Book 59, p. 278]. This land was part of the estate of the late Nathan WESCOAT."
