- 1870 Census: 3 Aug 1870, Greenwood, Crawford County, PA [p. 165, family #50] - "The birth year of 'About 1788' for Polly (CASTLE) WESCOAT is calculated from her listing in the 1870 census at Greenwood, Crawford County, PA, which shows her as 82 years old and born in New York. Her gravestone gives her date of death as 10 November 1874 at age 79 years. This would imply a birth year of about 1795, which is unlikely given that the 1810 census shows her as married and the mother of a child. Moreover, the 1830 and 1840 censuses indicate that Amaziah's wife was born in the 1780 to 1790 period. Polly has not been found in either the 1850 or 1860 censuses."
