During Josiah JOHNSON's enlistment (April 1864 - April 1865) the 20th Regiment, Alabama Infantry, recruited in the counties of Jefferson, Greene, Bibb, Perry, Dallas, Hale, Tuscaloosa, Washington, and Russell, was involved in various battles including Nashville of the Savannah Campaign. It ended the war in North Carolina. During January, 1865 there were 305 present, and it surrendered with about 165.
