"Mrs. Laura SLEEMAN. Almont, May 18 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Laura SLEEMAN, 72, who died Wednesday in her home here, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in the Muir Brothers funeral home. Rev. Daniel BOXWELL, pastor of the Congregational church will officiate, and burial will be in the Ferguson Cemetery. Mrs. SLEEMAN, widow of Claude SLEEMAN, was ill several weeks. She was born in Goodland Township, Lapeer County, March 10, 1879. She was married to Mr. SLEEMAN in 1932. He died in January, 1947. Mrs. SLEEMAN was the first woman member of the Almont Board of Education, a former member of the Library Board and member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Women's Reading and Social Club. Surviving are two sons by previous marriages, Dr. J. Kirk SEATON, Elizabeth N.J., and Phillip A. PRICE, Franklin, Mich., and two sisters, Miss Bernice DICKERSON and Mrs. Hal SHARP, both of Lapeer, and three grandchildren."
