"ISRAEL-2 SILVESTER (Richard-1) of Scituate, in Plymouth Colony, (which was united with the Providence of Massachusetts Bay in 1692) Born probably at Weymouth, Mass. about 1646, died 25 March, 1727, aged 80 years or more. The inscription on his gravestone at the South Parish Cemetery, in the Present Town of Norwell, Mass, formerly the southern part of Scituate, reading 'Isrel SILVESTER died March 25, 1727, aged 8[illegible]'. He married probably about 1673, Martha ___, who was living April 19, 1726 when he made his will. Israel as a boy and a man doubtless worked on his father's farm and later for his brother John on the homeplace. In 1670, according to DEAN's 'History of Scituate', he had a house one forth a mile southeast from the meeting house, by the Second Herring Brook. That house was taken down by Elnathan CUSHING in 1829. He also owned land in Pembroke and Marshfield, Mass. His descendents are to be found from Maine to California, and much genealogical data has been collected by Mr. Frank Price DINGLEY of Farmington, ME. The will of Israel Silvester was dated April 19, 1726 and a brief abstract of it is here given: To my wife Martha, 1/2 of my house, to my daughter Silence, 20 pounds, and she is to live with her mother, Martha. To my grandson Israel 10 shillings, to My granddaughter Lydia ROSS [ROSE] 40 shillings, to my granddaughter Hannah DAMON 20 shillings, to my daughter Lois STODDARD, 4 pounds. To my son Richard SILVESTER, 20 shillings and one lot of land in Marshfield. To my son Peter SILVESTER, 40 shillings, and one lot of land in Marshfield. To my son Zebulon SILVESTER, 40 shillings and one of my lots of land in Pembroke. To my sons, Peter, Elisha and Zebulon, rights to my common land in Scituate. Sole Executor: My son Elisha SILVESTER."

- Cannot be determined as to whether Israel or Charity was born first

"Israel [SILVESTER] had a house one fourth mile south-east of the south Meeting-house, on the margin of the 2d. Herring brook in 1670. That house was taken down by Elnathan CUSHING in 1829. His children were Israel born 1674, Silence 1677, Richard 1679, Lois 1680, Martha 1682, Mary 1683, Elisha 1685, Peter 1687, Zebulun 1689, Bathsheba 1692, Deborah 1696.
