"The father of Dr. LITTLE was Rufus Lafayette LITTLE, an Alabama farmer. He served four years in the Confederate army, being wounded at the battle of Shiloh, and was twice taken prisoner. In the late '70s he moved to a farm in Prentiss County, Mississippi, and his last years were devoted to merchandising at Booneville, Mississippi, where he died in 1906. He was all his life an active member of the Baptist Church. His wife, Martha McGAUGHY was born in Alabama of Scotch ancestry."
