"Robert-1 PARKER of the town and county of Barnstable has escaped to a surprising extent the attention of many persons who have interested themselves in the genealogy of early Cape Cod families. Since he had twelve children and at least 78 grandchildren the absence of published data on this family has created a gap which it is hoped this article may help to fill... The first reference to Robert-1 PARKER appears in 1655, in the Barnstable Town Records... It is shown that he held two parcels of land there."
"The marriage 28 Jan. 1656/7 of Robert PARKER to his first wife, Sarah JAMES appears in the Barnstable Town Records... along with that of his second marriage in August 1667, and the birth of his children by both wives... Sarah (JAMES) PARKER died 30 June 1664, less than four months after the birth of her fourth child... Robert PARKER married secondly Patience-2 COBB, daughter of Henry-1 and Patience (HURST) COBB of Barnstable, at 'the beginning of August' 1667."
