"MRS. RAY M. STONE. Gertrude F. MALONEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. MALONEY, was born in Clay County, Kansas, on May 12, 1899 and departed this life, at the home of her parents on May 12, 1925, at the age of 26. She spent the greater part of her life in Dickinson County. After graduating from the Dickinson County high school in the class of 1920, she taught two years in the public schools; being considered of the county's most successful teachers. On July 1, 1922, she was united in marriage to Ray M. STONE of Wilson, Kansas. One year ago, she was very ill with pneumonia, from which she never fully recovered. Although her many friends knew she was not as strong as she was before her illness, her untimely death came as a shock to the community. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, her parents, five sisters: Mrs. Lottie TAGUE, Kansas City; Mrs. Ruth SHANNON, Junction City; Mrs. Florence HOYT, Misses Edna and Marie MALONEY and one brother Carl all of Upland besides other relatives and a host of friends."
