- The obituary of Henry RECKNER lists "one adopted daughter" as a survivor; Mrs. James THEDE of New Holstein.
- This would explain why Ines RECKNER was listed in the 1920 census with the RECKER family, but was not listed in the 1910 census. Thus, she would have been adopted sometime between 1910 and 1920.

She was taken in by the state, where she was temporarily adopted by her case-worker and named Inez RECKNER. Her elder half-sister (maternal) Daisy HAYNES then took custody of her, where she changed her name to Beatrice Edna HAYNES… Beatrice later married James L THEDE and assumed the name Bernice N THEDE."
