"SAMUEL COBB (Jonathan -2, Henry -1), [carpenter, Deacon], was born at Barnstable, 23 February 1683 and died at Falmouth [now Portland], Maine, { } October 1767. He married, possibly at Middleboro, pre 5 March 1708/9 [birth 1st child], ABIGAIL { }."

"SAMUEL COBB (Jonathan -2, Henry -1), b. Feb. 23, 1683 at Barnstable, Mass. His wife's name was Abigail, but it is not certain that she was Abigail STEWART, as has been stated. They lived in Middleboro, Mass. till about 1717, when they moved to Falmouth, Me. He was a house carpenter, and held office as town clerk and other places. On July 10, 1727, he was chosen deacon of the First Church, and his wife Abigail was admitted to the church the same year. His brothers Jonathan, Ebenezer and Joseph also came to Falmouth. 'Oct. 1767 Deacon Cobb died' (Smith's Journal)"

Samuel COBB was a ship-carpenter, and came from Middleboro, Massachusetts; he was thirty-eight years old and married when he came here; he was followed next year by his three brothers, Jonathan, Ebenezer, and Joseph, who settled at Purpooduck."
