"Major James, son of John BROWN... married Lydia HOWLAND, daughter of John HOWLAND, who came over on the 'Mayflower,'... Children: I. James, born at Rehoboth, May 4 or 21, 1655... 2. Dorothy, born at Swansea, August 29, 1666, married --- KENT. 3. Jabez, born July 9, 1688, at Swansea."

"JAMES BROWN of Swansea, son of John and Dorothy, married Lydia the daughter of John and Elizabeth (TILLEY) HOWLAND. The will of Elizabeth HOWLAND, printed in our third volume, mentions her daughter Lydia BROWN and her son-in-law James BROWN, also her grandchildren James BROWN, Jabez BROWN and Dorothy KENT, and the Swansea records show that Dorothy had married Joseph KENT, Jr., on 12 November 1690."
"... I give and bequeath unto by dear and loving wife Lidia BROWN my dwelling house and barn and remaining part of orchard and all my enclosed lands about my house whether plowing or pasturing, and all my land and meadow at Moscachuck during [her] natural life... I make constitute and ordain and appoint my loving wife Lidia BROWN sole executrix of this my last will and testament..."
