in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, Maryland.

Reason for Visit: I had been to the two other incarnations of brewpubs at this same location, so I made a special visit here to check out the latest version. While this was definitely a different brewpub under different ownership, a lot of the design and layout had a familiar flavor.

Logo: The Growlers logo features a person's stylized head from perhaps the 1890's complete with middle-parted hair, handle-bar mustache and bow tie. The letter "W" in the word Growler is made to look like the gentleman's torso with the two prongs serving as his arms. Each arm holds a growler. The entire logo is enclosed within a horizontal oval on a dark mustard yellow background. |

Exterior Photograph: This is the back of the Growlers brewpub in Gaithersburg. It has been the site of two other brewpubs; Summit Station and prior to that, Olde Towne Tavern & Brewing Co. The brewery is located in a large brick building at the southwest corner of East Diamond Ave., and South Summit Ave., across from the train station. There is a small parking lot, but if it's filled there is a free public parking garage just on the other side of the tracks. |

Interior Photograph: This is the front bar. Notice the freshly poured beer in the foreground (a lucky coincidence). Also, you will see a row of empty growlers hanging horizontally along a rack just above the bottles on the countertop. And it you look even further back through the glass you will see their copper brew kettles. |

Glassware: True to their namesake, the Growlers brewpub does indeed offer growlers. It is a half-gallon vessel with a ceramic, resealable pop-top. Their logo is included on a paper band across the middle along with the usual Government warnings to the side. |
