I have visited Spilker Ales,
in Cortland, Gage County, Nebraska, USA.
Brewery/Brewpub Location Map
- Follow this link for a map of all the breweries and brewpubs I have visited.
Reason for Visit: We had family that lived in Nebraska. Cortland is a very small, rural town. There was the brewery and a little curio shop across the street, and some houses. It's fairly close to Lincoln though, so not quite as rural as it seems. The brewery now seems to focus primarily on Hopluia, their IPA, to the point where the beer gets higher billing than the brewery name itself.
Front of Coaster: This Spilker Ales coaster is a simple, one color design for their Monkey Wrench brown ale. In going along with that theme, there is a monkey wrench graphic. It notes the name of the brewery and it's location, Cortland Nebraska.
Glassware: The front of this Spilker Ales pint glass features the name of the brewery and its location with the center of the graphic containing three barley stalks.
Glassware - Back: The back of the glass features their Hopalleuia beer (now called Hopluia). There is a large hop cone with leaves and some musical notes, probably playing the Hopalleuia Chorus. |
Sample list of beers produced by Spilker Ales
- Hopluia (now their exclusive beer?)
- Foggen Lager
- Monkey Wrench Brown Ale
Items featured on these breweriana pages are personal souvenirs of my visits to these locations, and an expression of the events and travels leading to their collection. They are not for sale or for trade.
